THINGS TO BE KNOWN ABOUT BENIDORM

The potato men. They stand in the street with three half small potatoes on top of a card board box and a pea. They put the pea under the potato and bet anything from 5 to 50 Euros upwards. The guy you we’re watching has just won a 100 Euros, and it looked so easy. But, you can literally guarantee that he was part of the scamming group “ GIPSIS “ and his job is to make it look like you can win too, just keep in mind that you NEVER will.  ( don’t let it happen to you ).

The hole in the wall´. Watch out for credit & cash cards scams, there are many and some totally ingenious ones out there. If you have a UK credit or debit card, you will find that these too can be used in many of the cash machines in resort. You will get the correct exchange rate although your bank may charge a small fee for this type of transaction.
Our best advise to you is to always try to use a machine in a bank that is open., then if you have a problem, you can go into the bank at that very moment and report it.

Money Exchange. You will want to look about for the best rates, and will be quite rightly wary of any high commission charges. It is always better to shop around. Just remember, before you hand over anycash always ask how much they´ll give you in Euros, take a few minutes, think it over and then you decide.

Private documents.
Never go out and about with your passport and other vital documents, unless you have to. Other wise, leave it in your safety deposit box in the apartment provided for you.

Scratch cards. You’ll meet the props on the streets and they’ll offer you a go on a free scratch card and guess what? You’ve won!!!! Surprised? Yeah so was everyone else who got one. They’ll tell you that to collect your prize you have to go to the office where they will keep you for a few HOURS and try sell you a holiday of a lifetime, yep, you got it, it’ll be the dreaded Time share, Beware!
